“Father Tongues”

Father Tongues” is an album of improvisations of different lengths and types. The music is inspired by precedents in the genre like the many great recordings of Keith Jarret, Thelonious Monk’s solo recordings (especially “Thelonious Himself”) and also Craig Taborn’s “Avenging Angel” as well as the music of Morton Feldman, “Palais de Mari’ in particular. Most of all, it seeks to capture a set of feelings and meditations around the themes of fatherhood: responsibility, authority, masculinity and familial love.
